Anyone can give me some info on both of these. I'm about to put XP on my machine. I'm also gonna update from VST 32 to SX. How compatible are the 2. Are there any problems. Is it a good or bad idea.????????? Can someone let me know ASAP. Plan on doing it tonight or tomorrow.

yea it works, it olny works with 2000 and xp.. though new versions will support 98...

Enjoy SX!!

Also, if you have the leway- I'd recomend backing up your whole system and installing XP from scratch. MS upgrades are good and all, but a fresh install may be cleaner. Just be sure all of your stuff is backed up and check the backups.

f not, the upgrade works just fine. It just doesn't feel "clean" to me.:)

Take care,
Chris

At this point, just don't waste your time with trying to run any programs in XP, that use OpenGL or Direct3D. 'MicroSquirt' has totally F'd-up in that department. Keep whatever games and 3D apps you might use, on a seperate partition with Win98 or ME there to run them.

Just a point of clarification.... I just checked out the steinberg website, and they are saying that they have a feature that will allow SX to be installed in Win98, but they are NOT SUPPORTING it. There is a small thread on it at the moment at alt.steinberg.cubase.

On another note... the "other" version is out: Cubase SL. I'm doing a BIT of checking into that, as at the moment, I can't afford SX. I can't seem to find anything that clearly states whether SL offers 32 bit float point processing, though. (the site DOES say that it has a 32 bit floating point mixer.... or something to that effect.
