I have a RYO2 from Prorec's site. I have the details listed below. I am thinking about switching over to Cubase SX from Sonar. I am trying to anticipate any compatability issues I might have. My main concern is the copyright protection implemented by Cubase SX. I understand that it is a USB dongle.
When I was setting up my system, I couldn't get a USB mouse to "gel" well with the W2K installation. Specifically, I couldn't get the system to shut down correctly. The system would get stuck in a high frequency loop of shutdown and startup. I wasn't thrilled about the wear and tear on the hard drive, so I knew this was a problem that had to be corrected.
I could get it to shutdown if I turned all of the power off, but I just wasn't comfortable with this set up. I felt like the thing ought to shut down the way one normally shuts down a computer. I traced the problem to the installation of my USB mouse because when I installed a normal PS/2 mouse everything worked cool. Since this solved the problem, and I don't use any USB hardware, the issue sort of died at that point. I really don't know if the problem is USB or if it is that specific USB mouse and it's driver.
Have any of you experienced problems with Cubase SX's USB dongle, and a setup similar to the one listed below? I know I will probably have to change some of the delta control panel settings to get it to run correctly.
