Hey, guys. I was wondering about the difference in effects between SX and Nuendo. Are the compressors the same? Reverb? I'm trying do settle on one of these programs, and I was wondering about the differences. I know that SX is more MIDI oriented than Nuendo, but what justifies the big price difference? Is the audio engine different? I'm an old Cakewalk/Sonar user, and I like the look and feel of SX, but now this Nuendo thing is kinda buggin' me. Can someone point me in the right direction? Steinberg's website is not real helpful these days, so if someone can just give me an idea of the major differences between the two, I would appreciate it. Thankx

Oh, yeah. I did do a search for this topic, but the question was never really answered. Just want you to know that I did that. Thanks

Nuendo is more of a total production package, with more post production options and features. Also, it's film scoring abilities are more enhanced than for SX. I don't know about it's plug in's, but I thought I read that they have higher end plug-in's that come free with Nuendo that you have to pay for with SX.

It really boils down to what you are going to use it for.

When trying out both it's immediately apparent the audio engine is exactly the same. You can even load one's projects in the other without problems.

So yeah, use Nuendo if you want to do complex surround mastering or hook up external timecode controlled gear (ie for film scoring) and use Cubase if you've got loads of midi needs - the midi plugins in SX are excellent, esp. the arpeggiators and midicomb delay.

Dude (bigyan dixit) - If there is relevant information to be given, that's great. But going around opening 2 and 3 year old threads to get your count up isn't exactly a good M.O.

This is a pretty busy place - The "signal to noise" ratio is already hard to read.

I appolozise if i really messed the thread.....

But i was not trying to mess

i have used both of them and i dont find any differeence at all in their plugins ..
so i wrote i love the look of nuendo .. if this matters i will edit and delete my quotes...
