Cubase Problem with MIDI

I have been using Cubase for years. Just in the last few weeks I have been running into a lot of problems with midi. When I record midi tracks certain notes just do not play back. There is no pattern as to which notes do not play back and it varies every time I hit play. It does not happen unless other midi tracks are playing as well (aka if the track is soloed no problems).

Example, I have one midi track being sent to Kontakt and another being sent to B4II. On the B4 II midi track certain notes just do not play, once again varies every time I hit play and there is no pattern to whcih do not work. The Midi activity meter show that cubase recognizes the midi message and the vsti shows it recognizes the midi message, just nothing comes out. I have not installed any new plugins in a while nor made any modifications to my box what so ever. Any idea?

Thanks

It sounds like a setting is restricting your polyphony. Try to reset the program's MIDI settings to default. If you can't find the setting, uninstall the program and the reinstall it.

If this doesn't fix it look for other problems; midi interface going bad, VSTi settings, etc.

If all else fails take it outside and blow holes in the box with a shotgun!

Now see, I was going to say that but I wanted to wait and see if anyone else had any reasonable ideas before I did... That would be the first thing I would try though... :D
