Hi, I just purchased a Darla card for the amazing price of $200.00! I was wondering which program works best with the Darla card, Cubase or Cakewalk, or other? Thank you.

Adam.

PS. I would be glad to here from some darla users, how do you like the card?

The eternal question.. :)

I won't try to sway you either way. Download demo's of both and try them out first before deciding. There is certainly a Cakewalk demo, not sure about Cubase. From my experience's with both, I ended up preferring Cubase. I found it to be more stable and have far less latency with the ASIO support. I'm not sure if the Darla's card supports the ASIO with Steinberg. You could find out at their site:
www.steinberg.net

Calkwalk also has some advantages. It is easier to learn (from what I've heard on this BBS anyway), I found the wav editor easier to use. The midi funtions are better implemented than Cubase - I don't do midi, just what I've heard.

Also, don't limit yourself to these two programs, there are many others that may suit your requirements - N-Tracks, Quartz, Vegas, Logic...
