cubase newbie question..

I have an Alesis QS6.2 synth, 2 midi cables, and a midiman midisport 2x2 hooked up to my computer... When I try to record the sounds my synth is making, all I can get is cubases's piano sounds, not what is coming from my synth... any suggestions??

You'll have to record from the line out of your QS into the line-in of your PC, as an audio track. You're only recording midi data now, which can only be used to play back a midi device, like the built-in VSTi's.

You could connect the midi out to your QS again (careful about creating a midi feedback loop), but if you want to record those sounds, you'll have to do the audio thing at some point.
