I am planning on getting the Firebox which comes with Cubase LE and was wondering what you guys think of it. Does it have a big learning curve? What are its limitations and how does it compare with the SX and other versions?

Cubase is a good overall program(i use it) :D

You need to learn and get used to it,to smooth out your workflow. As with any software you will have problems at first because of a lack of knowlege, but thats why we are here for!

cant comment on the limitations, but i wouldnt think it would be that bad,i use SL3 and it does more than i need it to.

Hey Eric -
LE's not bad feature-wise. It comes with a good chunk of stuff, and you can always download tons of free VST plugs to go with it... my biggest problem is that it's not reliable and has a number of bugs, at least on my system. If you're just having fun and not doing anything too serious, it's a great place to start. However, if you're going to try to do anything critical (like multitrack live recording), you'll want to upgrade real quick for the support, because LE has NONE - Presonus tells you to talk to Steinberg, and Steinberg doesn't offer any patches or updates for LE. I just bought Sonar 5 producer because I'm tired of fighting with the bugs in LE.

well I guess i'll find that out for myself. I havent heard of any one else having this problem but i'll see I guess. I don't have to use Cubase with the audio interface so I could always get another program. Thanks for the reply btw. Also, could I use the intructional CD for the LE version or is it too different to have the SX instructional CD be of any help?
