Cubase LE vs. Protools LE (mbox2 vs. firebox/firepod)

is there a major difference between these programs? i'm a really basic recorder that simply mics vox, acustic guitars and possibly drums with only bass DI'ed in. is there one of these that might be better to use? i wouldn't really be doing any midi or any of that stuff.

I think i'd pick Protools LE first (get the mbox2), but it looks like for some f*cked up reason, it doesn't run on my exact model of Mac PowerBook G4. so that has me looking at other options...like the FirePod or FireBox by presonus. any advice here?

i'm really not needing to record more that 2 tracks at once so i don't know if i really want to spend another 300-400 bucks to do so.
 
There is a fair difference between the software, but not so much that will alter your sound quality as much as the interface itself... the MBox has pretty decent pre's (Focusrite) so I'd get it for that, if nothing else (especially since you're not looking for much functionality from the software itself)
 
If you're thinking of going with Protools, check out the M-Powered version. Its cheaper, pretty much identical, and you get more in's and out's.
