I am wanting to do some beginner recording projects at home. I am thinking of purchasing the Lexicon Lambda which comes with Cubase LE. My friend has this and he likes the software and the interface. My question, however, is in regards to EzDrummer.

I want to purchase EzDrummer to create drum tracks for my songs. Does EzDrummer work well with Cubase LE? I've read a lot about how you can't drag and drop EzDrummer in Cubase LE. Is this a problem? Am I understanding it correctly, or missing something? I don't know which version of "LE" the Lexicon comes with. LE4, LE5, etc...

Thank you

I have never heard of a limitation of Cubase LE (any version) that disallows drag and drop of midi grooves from EZD. I do not have LE5 installed anymore so I cannot test it. As far as I can remember, I believe I had EZD before upgrading to a full version of Cubase.

You do need to 'Draw' a midi event before dragging in a groove is possible. Maybe what you heard was just from inexperienced users? IDK.

Hopefully Guillermo or any user of both will come around to verify soon.

Lexicon should at least be up LE5 by now I would assume. I suppose it depends on how old the dealers stock is.

Some interesting possibility HERE.

Though again, this is the first I have heard of this so just looking into it for ya.

It is looking like early versions of Cubase LE did not allow drag n drop of MIDI. One member stated in a thread that that was possible after LE4. I am sure the Lexicon has at least LE5 by now. I would check with the seller and get one with LE5 just in case. LE6 even better.

Also, EZDrummer 2 allows you to build an entire song within the EZD interface itself. So if you do run into this limitation with an older version of Cubase, you should be able to get around it by just building your drum line entirely in EZD2. EZDrummer 1 does not support this though.

Wow. Thank you guys so much. I will ask the seller what version it has and make sure it's the latest. Thanks again!

If you are buying a new copy it does not matter what version you are buying you will end up with EZD 2.

I've heard that the issues with dragging & dropping with EZ Drummer only occur if you're not running Cubase in administrator mode. At least, that was my experience with Cubase 7 in Win7 x64.
