Hello, I don't know if anyone else here has had this particular issue with Cubase LE. I'd appreciate your thoughts on it.

I was trying to mix 5 audio tracks(1 synth,4 drum tracks). I opened the project, activate "R", hit "play", and started adjusting Volumn on the 1st track. It seemed fine.

Then I switched to "Pan Left-Right", click click click,no problem.

Then I switched to "Pan front-rear", the track just started to freak out, as if it couldn't decide whether to stop or not. This lasted 2 seconds, and it just stopped while the drum tracks are still in playback.
From that point to the next 2 hours, the 1st track couldn't get into playback mode without a "mute-unmute" action(click "X" twice). Imagine you just did some EQ and tapped the space bar to hear how it sounded but one of the tracks wouldn't start playing automatically.

And the same thing happened to the rest of the tracks when I tried to pan them using automation.
So now when I open the project, hit space bar, I can hear one track.

And when I export the file to audio mixdown, the .wav file are incomplete as well(missing synth sound).

I apologize for the epic story.

My set up:
AMD sempron 3100+
1GB RAM
Audiophile 2496 PCI soundcard
Behringer Xenyx 802(where I plug my headphone)
Routing:
output of audiophile 2496-- Behringer "CD-Tape" input
CD-tape output --input of audiophile 2496
headphone hooked up to "phone" on mixer.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same problem, I added volume automation to my vocal track and now it won't play without hitting mute/unmute while the project is playing. I tried pasting the audio onto a new track and re-doing the automation, but the same thing happened. And like yours, the track isn't heard in the mixdown. I finally finished the song and was just doing the finishing touches and this happened, I got so mad at it that I haven't touched it for about a month:mad:
Any help would be much appreciated.

What do you mean pan front rear?
if you remove the automation 'R' button is the problem solved?
you probably have but have you tried to inpt the automation using write 'W' button instead of 'R'

R activates the ability to automate and refers to read

w is write and is used for doing on the fly automation.

I'll take a look at my cubase and see if i can see all the things you are refering to and i will try to help you further.

cheers

I didn't think LE supported surround mixing?

Also on the export did you check the boxes to include automation and MIDI stuff?
