I was wondering if anyone can help me out here. I recently purchased a Tascam us-1800 which came with a copy of cubase le5. I was originally using cubase sx3 (loved it).

My problem now is with cubase le5 I can no longer split ezdrummer into multi channel tracks for individual sample editing. As well as I no longer have the wonderful multiband compressor from cubase sx3 that I was able to use to turn ezdrummer into the most amazing metal drum sound ever.

I was wondering 2 things. Is there a way I can get a VST of the multiband compressor from sx3? and how do i split ezdrummer into multi tracks for individual editing/inserts etc on le 5? ( i could do it on sx3 no problem but cant figure it out on le5 lol.)

Would be greatly appreciated.

Le 5 does not include 'Instrument Rack'. There are two options for you. Either dissolve part, which will create multiple instances of easy drummer (this does not seem to work efficiently). Or just mute the unwanted notes via 'Drum Editor' and export audio to pool and reintroduce to individual tracks. Well 3 actually, upgrade to full 5 or 6, or use SX3 for EZD editing.

Multiband compressor is easy. I found a link the other day to free Steinberg VST downloads ftp page. Multiband compressor is one of them. Btw, Magneto is very cool as well. :D

Hi All,
I am really new at this and as a result a bit confused.
Does this mean I cant record more that 1 track at once?
I ask because I have a Tuscam us1800 and have 7 mic's running into it. I wanted to record each mic seperatly, but for what i am reading, this is not possible on Le5?

Yer all good man. Your interface is the only limit there. 16 total with the 1800. :D

No problem. You know, I have never actually tested LE5 for recording 16 tracks at once. I have only read that you can. I know for a fact that LE4 was limited to 8 simultaneously and LE5 will for sure do that. There is not as yet a feature chart available for LE5 like there is for LE4 that I am aware of.

Well I am going to really test it out tonight. I have been flat out over the last few days.

I will see what LE5 limits are in respects to this and let you know.

Thanks again!
