Alright so here's the nitty gritty. In Ableton I get no latency but in Cubase I get tons of it (like 4 seconds on recording and playback). Why is this? I'm using a fully legal copy of Cubase LE. I'm also getting crackling when I play guitar into Cubase.

Please, somebody help me with this! Oh and don't mention my interface. I though it was the interface but it's not. As I said, Ableton works fine. I also tried using a different guitar and a different cable, issue persists.

Well I'm not up to thinking of anything clever, so all I can wonder is whether you have the same drivers selected in Cubase. ASIO? Similarly whether you've checked the config of Cubase audio and driver options against those set in Ableton.

That may or may not help, but at least I haven't mentioned your...

...oops, that was close, nearly mentioned it.

Yes. I have the right drivers selected. If I didn't I wouldn't be getting sound (I'm using a Tascam interface).

Have you set windows performance options for background processes? What's the nature of your pc?? (what cpu, memory, os etc...)

My computer should more than be able to handle everything. I have 8gb of ddr3 ram and a quad core 2.66 ghz processor. As I said, everything works find in Ableton but not in Cubase.
