Cubase EQ vs Plugins : Shortcomings?

What do you guys think of the Cubase EQ vs something like the Waves Renaissance EQ? What do you think its shortcoming are comparative? I know you can only do 4 bands with the CB EQ, but are there any comparative shortcomings sonically? Waht do you like to use for multiband eq?

I've never used the software you mention. It also depends on what version of cubase you use. The SX eq is crap compared to the Studio 4 and Cubase 4 EQ as its been re-written for the new versions.

sx3. Im wondering if I should take the leap to studio 4. I was wondering what the performance differences were.

the new EQ was one of the things that people talked about when C4 came out... was seen as a big improvement... it's cool by me... anyhow ya may want to wait till after the jan namm show as steiny may be releasing C5...
