Cubase audio record prob

Hey,
Any idea why I hear a delayed echo of an input audio signal when I'm in record? MIDI plays fine, but it's impossible to record audio with this problem.
I tried altering the buffering size and record options, but nothing works.
Tell me where I'm going wrong!

Check under system , audio (can't remember exactly where, it's the same place where you choose your soundcard driver, monitoring type, also where it shows you the latency) There is a setting called ASIO direct monitoring, checkmark it and see if that helps you. I had that exact same problem yesterday and that fixed it.
