I just recieved a New computer with Windows XP home edition. I have used Cubase 5/32 on my other computer which is windows 98, and it works fine. I install cubase on my New computer whichs is windows XP home, the program installs, but when ever I try to run cubase, I get like a error message, can anyone help me out???????

Did you pull the dongle off of the 98 machine and put it on the XP machine?

Yeah, what's a dongle? I have gotten that message when I tried to update past R4. So my current setup is R4. I am currently downloading the new 5.1. I hope it works. By the way, let me know how XP works. I really would like to upgrade if it is worthwhile! Good luck!

???where are you getting 5.1? its not out, unless your getting a public beta. i have cubase 5 vst/32 R6 , i don't have any problems running it under WinXpPro.

never mind, i haven't been to the cubase.net forum in a while, nor steinberg's web page. i'm downloading the update now

Basically he is saying that he has the Paradox hacked version. ;)

To get cubase worked on XP you need revision 6.... sorry :p

So is the dongle that silly little thing that connects to your printer port?
