Hi,
Im having trouble with my new sound card and getting it to work with cubase.
heres my gear:

Behringer mixer UB1204 fx
Rokit RP5 monitors
Delta 1010 sound card
Cubase SX 2.0

Computer : 2.66 ghz 512 ram 60 gb hard drive

ok now first of all Im having trouble getting a signal on the track...
the graph is very small and I have to turn it up super loud to record and to hear it well and then when I listen to it after it sounds awffull because it was recorded so loudly. what is the problem? Ive checked under device setups and insde the windows sound set up and every things seems fine.. ive also checked the sound card and mixer...
what is wrong im almost certain that it has to do with the cuabse why am I not getting a good signal.

also am I able to run an electric guitar straight int through the mixer or must i have an amp??

please help

gabriel

one more thing

when I start cubase up I get a message that says : the current asio-mme configuration was never tested blah blah blah... so i click yes and then it fails the test what do i do? i just spent so much fucking money on my studio and nothing seem to work....

thanx gabriel

Have you done any of the following?

Try re-installing the program.
Try installing the program on another computer.
Try a different audio software.
Try it on a different OS.
Try using updated sound card drivers.
Try searching for updates for the software.
Try looking at the cubase site for more information.

Also recording an electric guitar direct through a mixer does not sound the same as micing an amp. If it's not the sound you want then you need to mic an amp.

I totally used to get the same problem (with a Delta 1010 as well). Then I figured it out. It's something you have to change in the options/preferences menu in Cubase. I can't remember it now, but I'll check it out later when I'm on my comp.

And any instrument recorded direct through a Behringer mixer is going to be quiet. That's why I don't like Behringers.
