Hi. My first post here and I am a relative newbie to Cubase (LE, btw) and Alesis; but here goes:
I have a four piece band (guitar, bass, drums, keys, plus two vocal tracks). We have an Alesis Multimix 8 Firewire plugged into a decent PC using Cubase LE. Everything works fine getting the tracks recorded into Cubase and the levels on playback seem fine. However, whenever I go back to re-record the vocals track I have to set the Cubase mixer levels way low (like at 2, when they were at 8 at the time of recording) in order to get the gain on the new vocal track to be loud enough to be heard over the already recorded band.
Why is there such a disparity in levels and is there a way to avoid it.
Again, my apologies if this is a silly question or lacking enough detail -- I'm just starting out.
Thanks for your help!
