Hello guys,

i hope someone can help me with this.
There is this issue where when i record i normaly get 2 equal wav waves, but now one of the 'signals' is reduced.
Has it something to do with panning? This is a total pain in the *ss for me so i hope you guys know the solution.
I have this included photo where you can see the recent recorded wav (marked red) and the rest of the wav's where you can see that the lines are equal.
So in short, my question from me to you is: how can i turn this back how it was ;S
Thanks!

Look at your interface's control panel. Maybe something got altered there. What interface are you using?

Are the sources you're recording stereo or mono? If mono then perhaps it would make your life easier (and use half the memory and processing) to start by recording them in mono. Recording mono sources in stereo is unnecessary.

I've nothing changed in the control panel since the problem occured
I'm recording in stereo and i would like to try recording in mono but is there a way to convert stereo tracks to mono?
Your help is very appriciated!
Thanks

But are you recording a stereo source? If you are, that source is panned, or at least tilted, to the right. Also look at your input fades, maybe one of them got bumped down.

I almost never record stereo tracks because they are a bitch to deal with if you decide to do anything besides leave them centered.

Export the tracks one at a time (solo each). Check the 'Mono Downmix' box (think that what it called) in the export window. Also, check the 'Import to Project' and Pool boxes, so you don't have to import them back in.

I'm not sure if Cubase 5 has 'Batch Export'. If it does, you could export them all at once.

#1 Hello andro 41,

What are you recording?
If it is a guitar, you only need one mono bus on the VST Connections a mono track on the project page.
Also I can see on the screenshot, on the inspector of the audio track that you have the pan to L46.

Best regards,
GN

How would the software's pan control set to L46 cause the recording to be panned right?

Knowing the interface make/model would be helpful. Are you using a mixer in your record path?

Hello bouldersoundgy,

How would the software's pan control set to L46 cause the recording to be panned right?

It won't, it was just an observation. Unless that audio track is the source, and it is being routed to a group track and to another Audio track, that should not affect the audio recording.

But Panning it to the left is not helping either.

Best regards,
GN

Since the audio is clearly tilted to the right, it makes sense that the guy panned to the left to balance it in the mix. But that also has nothing to do with the guys issue.
