Need some help connecting everything up hardware wise and software wise. Just bought Cubase 5 and updated it to version 5.01. I also bought a Presonus Firestudio Lightpipe interface (firewire). The Mackie D8B (Digital Mixer) is on version 5.1 os. (Im using a pc on windows vista 32bit)

I have connected the Mackie to the presonus with adat lightpipe cables (6 cables to get 24 tracks) i also connected the word clock in and out from the mixer to the word clock in and out of the presonus interface using 75 ohm bnc cables. I also made the the mackie the master and the presonus the slave.

I only got Cubase 5 today so i opened up one of my songs but it only came up on the mixer on channels 1 and 2 stereo. How do i set everthing up so i get everything on seperate channel son Tape Returns Bank and also when recording mics on separate tracks?

Thanks Really Confused

Also your question is quite confusing.

What do you want to record? Why a mixer? Mixing you can do in Cubase.

So tell us your logic and how you have set up Cubase with the interface.

Cheers
