I recently bought a behringer xenyx 1202 mixer (4 XLR inputs) and the Behringer UCA 222 to get it working on my computer. I have Cubase 4 from when I did Music Technology at uni (Since finishing I've been in a bad accident and forgot quite a lot about the course etc so bare with me). I have set it up for the first time this afternoon and having issues recording 2 seperate things on two serperate tracks I.E. recording guitar on one and vocals on the other, when I record them on to 2 seperate tracks both tracks have both instruments on. How do I sort it out so I can say EQ, Compress the guitar without having to do the same to the vocals at the same time?

I did have yamaha mixer but found out it couldn't do this which is why I bought new equipment.

I hope this makes sense.

Cheers if you can help.

On the mixer, trying panning each output to a different side. For example, vocal to the right, guitar to the left.

Also, be sure in Cubase not to use a stereo track. You need to create to mono tracks and select the appropriate input for each.

No still doesn't seem to want to work. I've made seperate Mono tracks in the buses in VST connections and still coming out with both instruments on two tracks. Is it something to do with this USB Codec 1 and 2? because it's not coming up with anymore but like I said I have 4 xlr inputs available on the desk?

The VST Connection is a good start, but you need to create Mono tracks. Add a track and select Mono.

AddAudioMonoStereo.webp

Then in the Input section, select one of the inputs from your UCA222 thing.

Also, having 4 mic connections on the mixer doesn't mean anything. You are limited by the number of inputs on the UCA222 which is 2.
