Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with my audio problem. I'm recording through a Tascam US-144MKII into Cubase 4.0. The problem does not show itself on the actual recorded waveform. Only on playback im getting really annoying crackles and pops, not due to clipping annoying the hell out of me while I'm trying to mix/master.

Any suggestions? Computer is pretty new and should be up to task I dont know if its driver error with my Realtec Audio card...

Thanks,
PEter

seems to have worked its way out for the moment, after i started to record it as an effect. oh well. anyone else had this happen to them? Song start get all clippy and crackly really stop and go?

Check CPU, memory and disk utilization. Increase latency/buffer size.

I use Cubase 4 and I've had this happen. Only on playback, right?

Two things.

Increase your buffer size and make sure that your drivers are up to date.

Thanks,
Yea only on playback. Its also started crashing after a period of time, if the clipping gets to severe. I think its just my crap audio card and drivers conflicting with the Tascam unit.

I'll look it up in the help function but just curious how to increase the buffer and or latency.

Thanks,
Pete

If your computer has a built-in sound card (as most do nowdays), disable it in the BIOS.

i have had problems with this too. adjusting buffer size and/or dropping from say, 24/96 to maybe 24/48 usually helps on my system.
