I have a wester digital usb 2 or 3(500mb/sec or 6gb sec) now and thinking of upgrading to a OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 SSD 480GB (1500mb/s read). Would this help out and let me do a 60 track song?

192khz

I have 20 tracks with plugins(EQ and comp) and the hard drive will peak soon. CPU is fine, but it is just the hard drive.

Update:My sata drive seems to be working better

USB drive peaked at 21 tracks

Why are you recording at 192KHz?

There doesn't seem to be any audible benefit - all you're doing is crippling your DAW and creating HUGE project files

I don't know of anyone in a million dollar studio that records at 192. It's silly that it is even an option. Even if you can justify 96k, which most can't, there is no possible justification for 192.

Yeah its stupid!:) I was thinking of redoing all my songs(20) in 192khz, but I figured out the songs sound better as they are.

96kHz is more than enough. In fact, all the supposed shortcomings of PCM audio are negated by 60kHz according to Lavry.

Cheers :)
