Hello,

Anyone know where these come from?

Self-loathing grew the tree
That I now set down in this ground
Flagellation fashioned it
Into my burial mound
The twisting spear of loneliness
at least was something new
But I can't crucify myself
Without some help from you.

I am waste and desolation
I'm the stench of retribution
I wear my bitterness
Like a Crown of Thorns
Like a Crown of Thorns

This seems somewhat familiar to me, and I don't want to accuse anyone of plagiarism unduly...........

It's the "I can't crucify myself, without some help from you" line that makes me think I have heard it before.

Plagiarism, Puerile or Potential?

Which one? I need to deliver a "lyrical-only" verdict shortly and would appreciate your input.

Thanks,

Q.

I don't recognize it, but I like it. Sounds kind of Creedish. I think taking "down", out of the second line, would make the line work better. Maybe make it, That I now plant in this ground.
