Force of Naked
Hi.
I have a pair of Alesis M1 mk2's and I'm planning on purchasing a sub to help fill in the missing low-end for mixing and mastering in my home studio.
My questions:
1. Do I need to purchase crossovers (active or passive) to do this, or do I just need to connect the speakers and subs as directed, and let 'er rip?
2. I know I'll have to "tune" the sub (...or whatever it's called) to the system to make sure that I'm not adding too much bass, what is the easiest way to do this and have the results be accurate enough for a home studio?
I have read several threads regarding the sub vs. no-sub debate, but because I can get the purchase ok'd by the budgeting co-ordinator (AKA: my wife), as a purchase for our home stereo, I've decided to go ahead with it just to try it out. I'm thinking about purchasing a Yamaha YST-SW205, as it has enough power for my needs (150W), can be purchased locally, and won't break the bank. ...Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
