What the heck is a crossover and what it does?
Can anyone tell me please?

By the way: any of you can tell me where to find a photograph or a drawing / diagram of a PARAGRAPHIC EQUALIZER??

Crossovers are freeway overpasses!

But seriously.... A crossover in electronic musical terms is a device that splits the audio signal at a pre-determined frequency

EXAMPLES: to send bass freq. to a sub-woofer

or to send only hi freq to a piezo tweeter (Horn)

Crossovers can be as simple as a single Capacitor (Available at Radioshack for $.89 This would be a passive crossover.

Active crossovers use transistors and a powered amplifier circuit to divide the frequency outputs. Better control = More money
