CRL (Orban) SEP400

This is a mono 4-band broadcast dynamics processor from the 80's I believe.

I have an opportunity to buy two of them, $140 for the pair. They are pretty cool looking, but I'm wondering if anybody knows what they are like in operation.

I'm not familiar with these... but the documentation implies that they're used to create the LOUD crushed sound of broadcast radio... not something that I'm shooting for in my recordings...

but they also operate similar to a multiband compressor... they could be the next big thing in mastering...

but I doubt it
