Either this song is so good that nobody has any improvements to make, or it sucks so bad that nobody was the time to list all the improvements I need to make!! Seriously, feedback would be great. I'm still learning my new KRK RP-8's and I'd like some feedback on the mix.

Sounding pretty good mate, loving the intro.
I would say that the drums in general could go up a tad. Not much at all, just a little. However I'd boost the kick a decent amount. It could afford to be slightly more pronounced in the mix.

I liked the vocals and the song. love the writing.
Arrangement is where I could hear some room for change. add/subtract.
seems there's some arranging that could add some explosive dynamite to the chorus and the following verse, post-chorus
drop the guitar flange-chorus thing? add something else or maybe leave emptier for the vocal? hmmm...
the vocals are near strong enough to do it by itself in the verse, maybe its the flangy-guitar to Eq a bit have it less obvious?
the recording itself sounds decent. good job!

Thanks coolcat. As I stated in my original post, the song isn't done yet. I'm going to be bringing in some session players here in my local area...probably someone to play the piano parts for "real" since I basically just stumble my way around on a keyboard. I also would like some steel guitar work and possibly a lead guitar or fiddle as well. I also have some background/harmony vocals in mind, though I don't intend to overdo it. The song is really just a vocal and a rhythm section at this point. Once I bring in some lead parts the mix will change drastically...I agree that there are few variances in what there is right now, but since I have so few tracks at this point I kept them all in there. Much appreciated! Anyone else?

This song felt like a kick in the balls. I had no idea it was country
