Creeking sound in my headphones

I have K77 AKG heaphones and when I connect them into my AudioBox Usb (PreSonus) interface, I hear an ANNOYING creeking sound.

The thing is, that if I connect it to the "Main Out", Left/right, there's no annoying sound, but I can only hear Left/right...

When I connect it into the "Headphones" it's back again. and it changes according to the positioning of the interface... (Because the cable moves..).

Is there anything I can do to get rid of this?

My headphones have a regular computer connection so I add an XRL (I think) one on them..

thanks in advance.

You can only hear "Left/Right"? What else are you expecting to hear?

:D

I thought the exact same thing when I first read his post.

I think...(?)...what he wanted to say was that when he plugs into the Main out...he can only hear left/right on his phones, but he can't use that out for anything else.

Of course...maybe I'm wrong...maybe he wants to hear it in 5.1 surround on his headphones...??? ;)

I think he means on headphones he can hear left, right and creeking. On main outs he can only hear left and right as it should be.
The 'but' confuses it though. Maybe I'm wrong.

Up a creek ....

Sounds like he's getting sound of the headphone cord itself transmitted through the earphone cases.

Ok, what I meant was When I plug the Headphones into "Phones" I Hear a LOUD CREAKING sound, and when I plug the headphones into "Left" OR into "Right" the creeking sound disappears. (BUT this way I have to choose between hearing only the left or only the right side)

How do I get rid of this? it's like there are many many crickets or something in there and it's annoying as hell..

** Also, I can hear it only when I plugin the headphones through the interface (Presonus AudioBox USB) when I plug it into the computer directly I don't hear that sound.

Sounds like there's something wrong with the headphone output of that PreSonus! Is it under warranty?

I bought it a LONG time ago... the noise was pretty quiet first so i thought maybe I did something wrong, but it got worse and worse... and now it's really messing with me... and I checked again, it isnt only in the "Phones" output, but also in the "Left" and "Right" ones too..

Isn't this like a known probem? is it solvable?

tried O.o can you guys think of what may cause the problem?..

C'mon guys, I can't even record anything cuz I always hear this annoying sound...
How do I get rid of that?

Ok a couple of things,
having your onboard sound enabled at the same time as having an external sound card could be confusing things - disable the onboard card (preferably in bios)
Are you using wireless devices? sometimes RF interference from mice causes that sound as they track.
Does the sound record? or is it just in the cans?
Is it your neck? see a phsyio :)

I'm not using a wireless device... and I hear that sound ALL the time, whether the mic is plugged in or not...

Also, I'm starting to think it would be way easier if it were my neck O.o

Can you post a sound file of the sound?

I'll try, but it just sounds like a bounch of crickets rocking out in my freaking ears...

I am hopeless, I have not money to get a new interface and I'm afraid that if I'll get a mic, my recordings will get messed up because of this..

** and if it helps, this is the interface I am using:

Seriously dude, disable your onboard sound card to see if that makes a difference.

Creaking and crickets are 2 very different sounds. Post a file so WE can hear it. Disable your internal soundcard first, too, as suggested.

I'll try and post it, but I just got some news on the subject O.o

I found out that I can hear this sound when the AudioBox is closer to my speakers/ router / internet provider modem (they are all close to each other)

Could something like this cause the problem? ( it almost disappears when I put it on the other side of my table)

is that it? should i still try and post a sample of the sound?

Looks like bruiser got it.

I don't know a whole lot about this, but that's a pretty solid google point for you if you want to find a proper solution.

Or just move the router ;)

Are you on a laptop per chance? I've experienced and read a lot about grounding issues with interfaces on dell laptops and macbooks.

I actually had to make a cable to manually ground my mbox due to interference.
(disclaimer)I'M NOT saying we have the same thing though. Don't do that!(/disclaimer)

Turn off the router when recording. You don't need internet connection while recording, and that should immediately tell you if that is the source!
RFI (radio frequency interference)
