Creating background/midi files for guitar covers

Hi all, first timer here.

I am starting to record my own guitar covers covers and slowly build my own home studio.

But for now, I want to start basic. I see a lot of guitar covers on YouTube with backing tracks or midi files that play in the background while covering over them.

They sound a lot better and more crisp when covering. I am wondering how do these people create or get these backing tracks or midi files?

There are places you can buy backing tracks, or you just record them yourself. You might also be hearing guys using the original recordings, but playing/mimicing the original guitar parts louder than the backing track.
