Ok, i'm having trouble with this. In cubase, i trim out the instrument that i want to sample from a song. fortunately, its the instrument that the song initially starts off with so i get to deal with one instrument. When i take this 1 second sample or 2 secs and load it up in the NN-XT sampler, the sample sounds broken up with a very harsh starting and ending when i trigger the notes via midi.

Do i have to fade in and out the starting and ending in cubase when i trimmed it? i'm totally new to sampling since i never required any additional instruments until i encoutered it now. :o

r u spreading a 1 shot across the keyboard kuz thats how it sounds. If u do that it will sound broken up the farther u get from the original note. The only way to fix this is only record in the octave that the sound was originally in or make several samples and load those to the NNXT

You can also adjust the VCA attack and release (slow the attack, speed up the release) so the VCA will smooth it out
