Creating a drum beat help

Hi everyone,

I mainly sing and mix, but I am starting to learn how to make beats because most of the premix are not good. I have watched a few videos, still need help

My question is how do I make this drum beat. Or how does counting works for making this? I have ableton. I know the kick drums comes in at beat 4, but cant figure out the rest.

 
Talking about the beat starting at about 1:10?

8th notes on the hi-hat, bass drum on 1 and 4, snare click on 2.

Thanks for the quick reply. This is what I got. Is this right?Beats.png I am guessing I will have to move the beats to match the aprt where the actual beats start.
 
No. Bass Drum where it says "1" and "1.4" (this is assuming I'm reading it right, not familiar with that program). Snare on "1.2". Hi-hat on all 8 of them.
 
The kick drum goes wherever you want it to.

That being said, kick on 1 and 3; 1, the and of 2, and 3; and 1, the and of 2, and 4 are pretty common patterns
 
Well I was just referring to the beat that he showed. Yeah there's a gazillion patterns you can use for where to place the snare and bass.
