After - successfully - tweaking my comp (cleaning up IRQ conflicts, etc...) ... I thought I have seen it all and know it all...

OK, here s the story....

I got a Terratec EWS88-D ADAT card and a Behringer ADA8000 DA-AD converter (also ADAT).

Recording works just like a charm - i spent quite some time yday playing around...

Well then today I wanted to test the ADA8000 w/ my comp as music-server going into my (rather good) stereo equipment.

So, made cables to convert from XLR (thats the behringer out) to RCA (NAD- amp IN) ... hooked the ADA8000 up, plugged in the cables .... no sound ...!!!!

I get signal to ADAT channels 3/4 (the ones I patch to) and get signal on the master volume (see pic) ... but again NO SOUND on the stereo equipment.

Here comes the hammer ... I connected the Behringer "roundtrip" (ADAT out to in and in to out), and was able to record in Cubase from the master volume fader the mp3 files that i was playing ... but again NO SOUND on the stereo

so, the signal def. goes into the behringer and is sent back ... but it seems that it doesnt go to the analogue out of the behringer ... The cable connections are OK, as I can hear a plop in the stereo's speaker when i turn the AD-DA on (so they def. transmit signal).

The behringer manual says that all digital ins are routed to the correspondant ananlogue outs ...

any idea what could be wrong - anything?

heeeeelp me!!!!

thx Alfred

ps: nothing is muted or so

UPDATE:

I plugged my guitar into the Behringer (analogue in) and looped the ADAT in/Out of it ... and could hear my guitar in my stereo set.

So the AD-DA converter of the Behringer are def. working - and so is the connection to my stereo

which basically narrows it down to "output" of the mixer and the input of the Behringer

any clues?
