crappy phonic pa systems...is it worth it?

I just want something that i can have practice with at my house, drums/2guitars/bass and the PA for 2 mics in there...

The Phonic Power Pack 408 PA Package

how is that?
it's like a 100 watt system, comes with 2 crappy PA speakers..........

is that even worth it?? haha!

My first question would be how loud is your band? Are you a hard rock band with 4x12 cabinets, or a band that uses combo amps? Either way, if you're going to go for cheaper pa gear, I'd say you're probably better off with Behringer than Phonic or Nady. You may want to check out something like this for a powered mixer (available very soon):

As far as speakers go, probably something with a 15" and horn. Behringer and Peavey make some decent models. If you have a really loud band though, you may need a 2nd set of wedge moniters. Anyway ... just my 2 cents.
 
If it's just for a vocalist try to score a used powered JBL Eon. They have a built in mic preamp and plenty of power.

And they can be used as powered monitors if you expand.
