I am running Magix on a PC using a Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum. Everything has been running fine until just recently. I have started getting a crackle/pop on all my recordings. The noise is not audible during recording or any other sounds generated by pc. Only after I record, then playback recording do I hear noise. Also, when "Wave" is selected as input noise is not there, but every other option it is. Any thoughts?

Check and see if the pops are in the recording (in the same place every time you play it) or just happening during playback.
Sounds like you need to increase your buffers.
Also, disconnect from the Internet, Skype, antivirus etc..

the pops are on the recording, they show up visually with the other recorded audio. same results when internet and anti-virus are disconnected. Also, my recording software has a monitor option and when turned on, even though pops are not audible, the nose can be seen in the audio level meter.

All of those things should be turned off when recording. Just a tip.
So now you are looking at a problem in the signal path.
I'd start with the mic (swap it), cable and work my way through.

I started having the exact same problem recently with my Audigy Platinum 2. Crackling and popping is audible on one channel after every recording and is visible on the monitor during recording, but cannot be heard until playback. It occurs even when my Internet, antivirus, etc. are turned off and does not seem to have anything to do with loose cables.

I would appreciate any help I can get in fixing this problem because I'm stumped and Creative's tech support is notoriously awful. I've made a list of other things I've observed about the problem to help with diagnosis:

1. Hardware Acceleration makes it worse, but turning it off completely means I can't play WAVs at all; it is still present at the minimal setting

2. It wasn't happening a few months ago, maybe less

3. The crackling can't be heard or seen on the monitor when recording a WAV/MP3 file to a WAV file, until playback; when using other channels like Auxiliary, Line In, Mic, etc., however, it can be seen on the monitor when recording, although it still cannot be heard until playback.

4. When I'm recording through WAV/MP3, the static varies in intensity according to how loud the recorded sound is.

5. I also have a Win PVR TV card. The audio signals in the video files it records still turn out just fine.

Because the audio sounds just fine until the file is played back, it seems that something must be going wrong at the point that the audio is recorded to a file, not when it is input into the sound card. Or maybe not, because the crackling is visible on the monitor when using Line In, Auxiliary, etc. Could this be caused by software errors, particularly a codec problem? Since this began around the time that bartblaze also apparently began having trouble, could we both have perhaps gotten a bad OS update from Microsoft or something?

Any help would be appreciated, because I can't record anything at all right now.

Thanks,
