It's an original and a colab I did with an artist I've done some things with over the internet, Mr. Herb Hartley. I wrote the words, he did the music and mix, we just updated it considerably. My voice is the smoother of the two, however, I think it's a nice contrast, Herb "sounds like a cowboy."

We're both playing acoustic guitar. I'm playing the dobro and bass, and another friend is doing the fiddles (real ones) he's very talented... Herb is playing the mando. (no drums, it's cowboy country!) No MIDI on this one... All it needs is a lonesome coyote in the distance on the break, a campfire, and some farting.

It's at the top, Rockin'Robby | Doraville, GA | Pop / Country / Acoustic | Music, Lyrics, Songs, and Videos | ReverbNation

It's a little different for this forum, but you may enjoy it?

Well, I will bump my own song, because when I listened to the one above it? It showed kids in a picture, and used a lot of inappropriate language... So It really doesn't deserve to be on-top IMO.

I thought it sounded pretty good. All the instruments sounded great.

I thought the vocals might be just a little thin. They could use a little boost in the low mid-range maybe. Or if you have a large high-mid boost, maybe pull that back a bit.

Not sure about the bass. It's kind of low in the mix by most modern standards. But for a song like this it might be just right. But if it were me, I'd boost it a couple of dbs.

Love it. Vocals sound in a different place than the music. Kinda sitting weird for me. But love the tune and execution. :)

Loving this, although I agree about the vocals.
It just sounds like they've both been high passed a little too high.
Still perfectly listenable though. I'm enjoying it!

I admire you guys ability to listen and make comments like that on the mix, and the frequencies. Really I do... I think I spent too much time in front of loud amps and weapons as a younger man :-( Not that it wasn't fun? But it took its toll on my ability to make such judgments. So again, I really appreciate those with the ears, to listen and make such observations. Thank you very much. All I can say is "I like it" :-) Or, ahhh, "this is different?" LOL! Thanks again.
