I feel like Jamal is trying to tell you something here. Please don't tell me that all 21 of your posts have been in your own threads, b/c that would just be very very very wrong.
 
i got the point... i assumed that being a newbie (with not many great reviews under my belt) that my opinions about mixes and things would be all that valuable to anyone. i wasn't sure how the etiquette of this sort of thing worked.

i actually have listened to many of the songs posted here, i've just never felt i had a place offering my opinions on them, since i'm still trying to figure out how to do this stuff myself.

i will post my opinions from now on, but i would really hate to get any "you think mine is bad, well try listening to your own" type remarks...

but, i've been taught a lesson here and i hope no one thinks i'm a bad guy for this.

i wasnt tryin to be an ass at all . i remember what it was like to be new....a simple yeah i like it...or whatever...right after i posted this i thought i should delete it..then it got quoted..lol..no harm no foul....people just like to know that they arent spending all theyre time giving you advice and you could give a shit about what they are doing......

I listened, btw. Cool cover.

Mixwise, the compression is kinda' over the top...especially on the low end. Like when the double kicks start happening, if you've got it turned up really loud...it makes you blink. LOL. It sounds like the whole mix is really pegged all the way across, but it seems to effect the low end more.

It may have too much low end, period.

Anyway, I like this about 1,000 times better than the original, even with the compression.
 
thanks for the comments... compression and bass have always been a problem for me. part of me wants to make a good typical rock song, but part of me wants to be able to run alongside the pop type music out there, with the big thumping bass-drums...

when i start my re-recording of all my old songs, this song probably won't be included, as i want to avoid doing covers this time on the "official" CD... because this song and another cover i did of a britney spears song rather stole the spotlight from my original material. but doing covers is always fun, and i do still have all the tracks to this one saved.. maybe i'll play around with it.. post a few more mixes, see what you guys think... i'm gonna be without recording space for a while anyway, so i really have nothing better to do than remix...

as far as responding to other threads, i've put a few comments up here and there... mostly to songs i had already listened to... i've found it sort of liberating in a way... i'm glad some of you have compelled me to join in a little more.
