this is a complete mutilation of mixmkr's song.. I didn't try to reproduce what he had, and I even changed the title, but I still tried to keep it the same song..

rip it apart mercilessly if you must.. I think the vocals are too loud, and also flat in a few spots.. destroy them please..

I took some serious liberties.. :)

hope your not too disappointed mixmkr.. I didn't have an ending..

Real good sound as always. In the intro I was asking myself, "Where's the low end?" Then at 1:16 it kicked in. Good one. Terrific guitar playing. It really screamed. All the musicianship was first rate. The part at the end where everything just sort of stopped, leaving the one thin guitar part was cool. Maybe went on a little longer than necessary. But I liked the effect.

Little vocal syncing issues at 2:00 ("stop staring at me"). Might not be as noticable if the tracks weren't panned. Little plosive at 2:40 - actually other spots (on the word "pilots" here and there).

Still the thing kicked butt. Sounded exactly like mix's :D

Don't be so hard on yourself

I wouldn't call it a multilation, you just gave it a good kick in the ass!:D

I thought the vocal level was fine, but it seems a bit flat in spots. Not pitch-wise, I thought you could have mixed it up a bit more note-wise.

The kick is nice n punchy, but it's kind of alone in there. Would be cool to have a nice punchy bass matching it to drive the tune better.

Good job, dude!:)

as soon as the smoke clears, i'll let you know how this sounds..

ok, this kicks!

Sam
The original on this one smokes, and your version does not disappoint. Yours rocks a bit more...a little quicker tempo. Impressive insanity on the guitar as usual. Cool ending!

Twist

impressive job mimicking some of those synth parts with your geetar! especially at the end.
cool sounds in there - both versions.

Sound's excellent. I saved the original and I like this one as much. You have a great knack for taking something and changing the hell out of it an making it sound great.

Very nicely done.

I can tell it rip's, the melody of the vox srtike me as very80's'ish sounding,in a (good wAY):D You shortened the intro though! LOL:D

I'm still listening to your cover of childhood games, on a daily basis!! i've let everbody listen!!!

Thank's, Sam!!!!!!!

Peace

Rick
P.S.............I have a new respect for you guy's that take time to listen with a 56k connection!!!!!!!!!! arrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhh

Strange and bewildering. I really liked the intro and outro. This one wanted to be cranked for some reason.

GOOD ONE!

Hey B. Sabbath i have yet to hear the original but i think this is really cool. The guitar work in the beginning is awesome. As far as vox i would take off some of that pitch effect in the early stuff, and save it for when the song builds to the chorous. I think it would follow the dynamics of the song a bit more and help make it even better. Also the snare sound was kinda blunt and odd sounding. Other than that was solid dude. Another good job

I dont know what to say. I had to go back again, and listen to the tools. This was more of an experience than a listen. :)

For a select few, I do believe chaos can be sampled, manipulated, and channeled. I wouldnt know where to begin... great experience! kind of a Def L kick sound, I like the loose snare sound, just a bit strong.

Excellent mix.Im not crazy about the snare sound but thats just a preference thing. The kick sounds a little mettalic when it's isolated like at :45 when it comes in, but that might be the sound you're going for. ....so it's just preference and doesnt matter.

The guitars kick ass.I like the EVH fretboard tapping stuff man.LOL...yeah all of the guitar work kicks ass.I like the usual walla of guitars going on in the rhythm section.

Synth stuff is cool too.

I like it.;)

Nice guitar work. I thought the song sounded a little thin at the very beginning but when it kicked in it didn't dissapoint. Nice job...

Great job as always--the usual wall of sound--LOVE those bending chords-awesome effect whammy pedal?--Good shredding tapping solo--works well without sounding cheesy--hell nice soloing throughout the tune...Vocals sound fine-sit nicely in the mix-words are audible..Wasn't crazy about the kick and snare sounds or maybe just there placement in the mix---the kick almost sounded snare like to me--and the snare sounded too outfront--like some verb on it might have worked? Or just a little less of it....It still rocked, you do such good stuff consistently....Nice original mixmkr!

Hey Sam, Cool Stuffs! ...I dont remember this one, Im gonna have to go give mix's a relisten.

...Cool tune! I hate the snare:D Im totally hearing something way more industrial and artificial sounding to match the vibe of the guits in this ...just preference though. I like the parts, very creative.... as usual. The rhythm guits sounded a little more squashed.... is something different there?

The vocs sound fine to me. They're sitting well in the mix, and have no extraneous middage:D ....what is your chain on this one. Im messin w/ something a little heavier and screamy myself and need some fresh ideas....

Nice work brutha

Nice intro. Almost not sounding like midi.. the intro strings that is. Good and convincing job... (and if those were real, I'll hit myself in the head with a brick.. or not) Nice tapping guitar solo there too. Sound like the song could use some bass. Drum sounds are good, but something about the snare sounds weird. The kick could use more low-end, since there's not that much low end here (at least to my ears). I like the vocals. You've never disappointed me in that department.

At about 4:00 I'm getting all these flashbacks of old Commodore-64 games :D and it's a good thing in my book.. it really is! :D I love those things.. and the guitar solo is pretty shredding too :D

NIIIIIIIICE :D

Great job on a great original! Impressive as usual. I have prolly asked you this before but what do you use for guitars, direct? mic’ed?

Hi....

Had another listen to mix's version... Man I bet the shows you put on in your head when you record are full of pyrotecnics and massive light effects! Great guitar chops, Mix.

OK Sam's:
Rockin....drums sound out of place, at least until the vocals come in. Vocals might be the best recording of your voice I've heard. Well placed in the mix too. Sounds like you've either changed mics, or started EQ some low mids out. Or maybe you did nothing. Sounds great.

The kick and snare sound...oh I said that already...

Love the synth around 4:20. Like the mad guitar lead there too. It's a good way to end that IMO.

I don't know what to suggest about the drum samples other than maybe try a few more to make sure you have the one you want. To me they sound too separated from everything else.

I believe covering a mixmkr tune has also inspired some interesting guitar approaches from you.

I would like to hear this with a bit more bass. The vocals sound terrific, the synth choices superb, and your hair looks fabulous, what did you do?

what can i say sam other than it seems that you have pretty much perfected 'your' sound.........that's not to say i wouldn't do things differently at times production wise on some of your songs, but nothing i would do would make them better, just different.......

my only small gripe on this one is the snare sound....it seems a little hollow for the song, but only at certain times, which is kind of weird.....don't really know to explain it other than that.....really just the first stretch of snare hits when the heavy guitars hit

great stuff

Sam,

Having trouble at nowhere....I've got a fast connection but I'm only getting it in 2 second intervals at a time when it's not totally frozen. Try again later this weekend. Looking forward to it from what I've read.
