Boredom artist
Hi all- been working on this for a while and I'd like a fresh pair of ears to point out any issues or weird stuff in it. Actually the tune is kind of weird because my wife and I used just about every instrument at our disposal to make it lol. Just hopefully nothing sounds bizarre or jarring, it's supposed to be a chill song.

Thanks in advance! :thumbs up:

First of all, how cool is it that you are making music with your wife! She sounds amazing. You harmonize well together. You could just leave it the way it is, like you're playing together in a coffee shop.

If you wanted to do some editing and dubbing, I'd start with the guitar. Not much body to the sound. You could dub in a second guitar to fill it out. There was a spot where I noticed the rhythm skipped a little, which is easy to fix. If you have the voices on individual tracks, you could eq to give a bit more fullness to them.

Well done!

Thanks Robus! Yeah she's the whole package, I'm a lucky man haha.

Do you happen to remember where the guitar skip was? It all sounds the same to me since I've been listening to it over and over again.

By sounds the same, I mean my ears are too fatigued to notice.

Very nice...you did very well getting everything to blend nicely without any real harsh frequencies or mud. Vocals are beautiful.

My crits: While the guitar sounds good when the song gets going, the beginning intro good use some cleaning up and by that I mean I can hear everything else in the room. Pick noises, breaths, touching of the guitar body, etc.......I think I can also hear the click track. A second guitar panned may give it some body and fullness....not sure you need it though. Good job.

Thanks Bruthish- I didn't realize the room noises were coming through. I think I'll have to listen with the volume up more. That's a tough one to fix without retracking, I would put a gate on it but we did all vocals and guitar at once and there's not any separation between them. I think that's a mistake I'll avoid making in the future.

I'm working on the room, I'm not sure if that will help with room noises but a second guitar probably would mask them a bit I hope.

Most of the noise I hear can be prevented just by being really conscience of not making unnecessary movements and having control over your pick/hand. The click track(if thats what I am hearing) sounds like it may be coming from your headphones? Just turn it down so it don't get picked up.

You could always get creative and make all that noise sound intentional. Add more background noise like people talking at a music venue. Pink Floyd did it on "Wish you were here"...he was coughing and it sounded good and intentional.

Yeah you got the click track exactly right, I had it in my headphones as we recorded. Good ears man. . .
