sounds cool man. finally a cars cover! that takes some balls there........ :D

Great version. This was always one of favourite Cars songs. You paid a lot of attention to the detail.

Mix wise, I'd try & bring up the rhthym guitar/backing synth, just make it a little more prominent, and maybe just a touch of reverb and/or chorus on your vocal to get it sitting inside the mix.

I like all the little touches, great job.

Edit: Hey Ed's avatar is bouncing in time to this one as well! Uncanny

Thanks for taking the time to listen and provide feedback. We had put this together fairly quickly. During mixing, I had messed around with the rythm & synth parts but didin't spend that much time but, I agree they should come up in the mix a bit.

The vocals are actually 3 tracks; track 1 straight up the middle; track 2 & 3 panned left (11 o'clock) and right (1 O'clock) respectively. Track 2 is advanced ~17ms & track 3 is delayed ~35ms. This gives the vocal a full/wide feel. Then we bussed in a lexicon MPX200 with a touch of reverb & delay for a little more “space”. I didn't want to overdue the effects so I used them sparingly.

As for Ed's avatar; it does make for a nice clock :D
