hrm... well... transparency is good... the bass i'll be using is a spector 4 string, so it's got a nice tone that i wouldn't want to hide... a lot of my songs are jazz based... some are crazy new age/fusion numbers and others are more trad.... despite this difference, i generally always go for traditional sounds, especially on drums and bass... So, the lack of flexibility wouldn't bother me all that much... Basically i'm looking for a di that will give me a nice solid signal if i use the following chain
spector bass
di
aardvark.
From what i've read, the countryman is good for that... the sansamp is possibley a live 'stomp box' before it's a di...
so what i want is a good solid di that will give me a nice traditional jazz bass sound... i want it clean clean clean, distortion is like painting with shit, especially distorted bass... This is coming from me, the guitarist, my bassist wouldn't be so cordial about it all : )
Bowisc - What's an mp-2nv and... is the sansamp several steps up from the whirlwind/dod boxes also, like the countryman ?
