Steenamaroo

...
Bored today so I sunk a few hours into a cover song.
It's not finished, or perfect, but I thought someone might enjoy it.

Love to hear what you think.

This is actually pretty damn cool. The mix sounds good to me.

You're Too modest - this is great!
Love the reverb - it's perfect for this type of recording.

Thanks ido. I tried to recreate the verb on Willie Nelson's recording.

Cheers guys.

This is really nice steenamaroo. There's a bit of a White Album feel with the Brit doing country vocals and the simple arrangement. Enjoyed it.

Hey Paul - this sounds great. Very authentic. The vocals in particular are really well done and well captured.

I don't know the original, but it certainly has that willie kind of thing going on. The end of some of the vocal lines drop down to a note that seems a bit strange...like "...fairly sound"? It sounds kind of odd to me, but who knows. Nice work. This was Paul, not Peter, right?

This was all me; Paul
Of all the song titles to pick though, I had to go for "Me and Paul" just to keep it simple. :p

Aye, it's funny you should mention that particular note.
That's the way Willie sings it, but he does a variation on the A chord that makes everything work better.
I just played straight chords cos I suck at guitar. :)

Thanks for the comments man.

Willie is a different country beast - he managed to get some honesty/intergrity into the worst Nashville era. On a diff tack, have you heard Billy Bragg's Mermaid Ave?
I like this - simple & effective I like the lead under the fade out - enticing!
Good digs capt'n!
