Could My Broken Off Pot Be Soldered Back On?

it was an example, man...just referring to an 8 channel mixer with 7 channels with good aux send pots and one channel with a bad one.

Well, I soldered the new pot into place to the best of my abilities, tried, as carefully as I could to put the board back in place and...

The effect master pot fell off :(

So now I need to replace that as well. What the heck were they making pots out of back in the 80s? Tin?

I got the impression at one point your unit suffered some trauma, which caused the AUX pot issue, and I suspect your EFF pot issue as well. I’ve never had any issues like you describe with any of my period devices...which is a pretty big number of them, only exceptions being issues resulting from some trauma. The quality of the pots on this era of Teac gear is superior to later smaller form factor plastic pots or horizontal mount pots.

I had to remove the boards from the mixer section to put them back because I took the wrong part off when I was looking for a fault
