Cotton Canvas for Absorber Covers?

Has anyone tried using unprimed blank cotton canvas for an absorber cover? You can get the stuff pretty cheap.

You could also make the absorbers into cool artwork. I'm assuming that if you paint on an unprimed canvas you'll still have a pretty loose weave with lots of air flow. Can anybody confirm that?

I was going to use something like that to wrap the rockwool for the bass hangers.

If you wanted to paint it, there's a type of paint called "non-bridging" or something like that. Supposedly it doesn't fill in the holes of the fabric.

Personally, for the absorber covers, I'd just pick out a nice cotton or cotton blend, and go with it.

Find a failed Hemp store and buy up some of their leftover stock.

Worked for me! I got 9oz muslin and 13oz weave for $5/yd.

And while you're at it - please do not forget to pick up some spray fireproofing made specifically for fabrics.

I would hate to see any one get hurt - physically or financially..... (insurance companies will look for any reason to not pay off)
