I've been trying to get prices on a new (or outlet) computer that I could run Mbox 2 Pro on. So far every place I check the prices are coming in at $600+. Partly because of the operating system required and the fireWire port that is required.

Any thoughts on where I can get an inexpensive PC that will work for Mbox 2 Pro?

Will it run on Windows 7?

Thanks!

With respect, instead of taking the time to type this question, or running around to local stores, try a thing called Google

I realize this is not a question for everyone. I was hoping maybe a few people had recently gone down this road and could share what they found as they searched for the best solution.

If not, that's okay.

Thanks,

Sorry for my shortness. Guess I'm cranky today. I've been reading too many " so what's the best ______ out"

Not sure if you may be interested in a laptop but Tiger direct and Newegg have some amazing deals on, especially the refurbs. Come to think of it, they also have great desktop deals. Also on the kits if you don't mind building it.

Good Luck!

Ok Baby!!! Here's The Deal.........

I was just down this road two short months ago!! As a matter of fact the exact road! It Doesn't get ANY better then what you said! $600 to start.

So I broke down my cheep walls and Got a brandy new Dell Inspirion Slim for $600 and the Mbox 2 pro with firewire Works B E A Utiful! So it's ok to spend the money!!! Unless like me it was tight......in Which case I SAVED UP And THEN! WA lA Presto I am Recording:D

Sorry for the attitude.

Thanks for the feedback. Very helpful.

I was down this road about a year ago... I had to save to get a MacBook and it's worth every penny. If you can't delay gratification, I say go with an HP (DELL's quality is going down).
