Cort Bass Guitars

Hi Guys, I'm toying with the idea of buying my first bass and wondered if anybody had any experience of the Cort Brand. I'll be looking at the cheaper end of the range, specifically the Cort action 4 bass. Anybody had any real world experience of this guitar (or brand?) .

bass player in my last band used one.. We liked it anyway.. You can hear it in any of the mp3s at http://www.kilterr.com/downloads/
 
haven't fooled with the basses but they make some nice gits so probably they make some decent basses.
 
cort bass

i had one .... good bass .... i bought one a few years ago for our band to gig w/ it was kind of a p-bass copy ..... good sound, good action ..... no problems ..... probably played 100 gig's w/ it ..... at the time i used to switch back and forth w/ the other guitar player ... i would play a set on bass while he played guitar then he would play bass for a set ...... i sold it for what i paid for it about 6 months ago ........ never has a single problem w/ it .... always stayed in tune ...... did break a a string once ...... but that was probably my fault
 
I have a Cort bass and I like it pretty well. Nice tone.
 
Cort is the korean factory that makes most of the guitar made in korea. (like Samick did in the 80's and 90's).

If you have played a korean Ibanez, you have played a Cort.
 
I had a short-scale, the the Cort Action Jr....
...it was my first bass, and treated me well....nice tone, with a very fast comfy neck....it did however, have a fret buzz issue on the E string that kept recurring, despite my best amateur attempts to resolve it, which led to my selling it recently....

...since you're talking about the cheaper Cort basses you might also want to look at Rondo Music basses (SX)...some very decent stuff at very low pricing...easily as good or better than the cheap Cort models...now the mid and high end Corts are a different story...

i have a rondo p-j bass ....... great bass .... better that the cort ... faster neck
 
Thanks guys, I'll give it some serious thought. I maybe should have mentioned that I've not actually seen one in the flesh so to speak just yet, just an advert that seemed like a good price and the reviews around all seemed to be reasonable positive. Might take a trip down to the store this weekend!!
