ear art's not a science
Hi: Im using, or trying to use sonar 2.0 When I copy a loop of audio to a new track, and add several repititions it works fine. BUT when I try to copy the larger loop I just made(with several small loops in it) to add to that "same" track, the new added material reverts to playing only a portion ,about half of the original short loop and then it starts playing over itself for the remainder, all jumbled up.. It does play the original multiloop section just fine, this problem occurs only in the New Added section, so I lost my abillity to add to the new track. I tried to copy this same multi loop cut item to a new track and this worked fine there. I tried every combination of, move over, replace, and blend with no difference. Does anyone know what Im Missing here? if I have not made myself clear heres an example. I cut one measure. paste to a new track with ten repititions. now I have 10 measures together. If i try to cut the 10 measure segment and add to itself the above problem occurs. in the new area? Does anyone know of an instructional video which is available for cakewalk/ sonar. If not there has to be a pretty good market for one if you have a video camera its pretty easy to walk someone through a lot of processes. A picture is worth a thousand words.

the answer

I finally figured out what was wrong, you cant use copy and paste and add repetitions to the same track when multiple clips are in the copied at once. you must use cut and paste for this to work. perhaps this is a bug in the program or a configuration problem. any additional insights will be appreciated
