Hey guys, what do you think is the coolest effect you've ever used?

They might be simple, but volume and a wah makes me happy....gibs

Tychobrahe Octavia. An old neighbor of mine had a bunch of old skool stuff at his house, dont know where he got this one at.

The Hiel Talkbox.
Nothing else sounds like it.
It is simply the most unforgettable effect in any song it's ever been used in.

My favorite is either a leslie or a Voodoo Labs Tremolo (4 knob version)

MIKE

put a crybaby in front of an MXR Blue box (which is a sub octave fuzz box) rock the pedal completly back and dont play anything below the twelth fret- cool synth like tones- when you play lower notes it's all farty which is cool too- you'll ned a volume pedal after that otherwise its too damn uncontrolable...

Put chorus before a distortion box, turn the speed down, depth and midrange EQ up and it becomes a combo of phase/autowah. Really cool.

I dont know about coolest but i wish they would bring back the Slow Gear.
If you fool with some of the settings and combine it with other effects in the right way you can have some wild sounds.

I have '59 Fender Vibrasonic with coolest vibrato circuit I have ever heard. It goes from Jazz to Surf to Swampy all in the turn of a dial. Ialso love the old Sun Records trick used by Scotty Moore and Luther Perkins---anolog tape delay set to just slightly echo the original signal A.K.A. "slapback" You can't have Rock-a-billy without it......

I know my favorite effect is natural tape reverse. I say natural because I don't like pedals that try to imitate it, I like the real thing alot better. With tape reverse you can make some really hypnotic sounds with the guitar. I do like the tape reverse simulator pedals for some applications. For instance, you can make a guitar sound like a horn or combine the effect with other effects to make some other cool sounds.

Put a Phaser in front of an auto-wah, then run the whole thing through the cry-baby. My friend used it on a recording (solo) and it sounded AWESOME!!!!!

How about a Floyd Rose? Okay, so it's not a "true" effect, but I've had a whole lot of fun with 'em over the years.

The combination of a chorus pedal and a sweet sounding vintage wah gives some seriously cool sounds. Anyone who trys it will never be the same.

get your coolest effect and more than likley the EBow will enhance the sound-try it.
