Cool Edit Pro MP3 encoding

Which is the best codec to encode? Is the 'Fast-codec' not as good as the 'Alternate-codec high'? (The alternative method takes a lot longer to encode).

Well, if you're using the Cool mp3 encoder, I don't think you have a choice, do you? I think the Cool empee three encoder uses the Fraunhofer codec, which as I understand it, is the best one to use, especially for bitrates 128 and lower. Which is, of course, a common standard on the web.
