Is there any possible way that you can take an song in Mp3 or any format and eliminate or at least reduce the singers voice, I don't think its possible but just checking , anyone know???

Impossible without serious artifacts. You can invert the phase of one of the channels (left or right), and you will cancel out anything that is panned center. Often you lose alot of the bass and bass drum as well. Stereo reverbs from the vocals and stuff will also often still be there. It may very rarely work if the mix was perfectlyt suitable.

may be off target

but i use a ac97 sound driver that has its own effects and a karaoke feature that disables most singing if you had something like that you maybe you could make it record through cool edit or windows sound recorder? just a thought

That uses the same technique. 999 times out of 1000 you will lose more audio and create more weird artifacts than you want. There is a 'Vocal Cut' preset in Cool Edit that does the same thing.

thanx. one question where is the vocal cut in cool edit can't seem to find it?

It's in the drop menu under favorites in the wave edit view

vocal cut

using the vocal cut reduces teh vocals but also reduces the music dramatically
