I just got a sansamp gt2 to use for recording, I also have cool edit and a soundblaster live soundcard. I plug the gt2 into the line in and sound comes out of the speakers, but is not recorded. how do i get it to record the sound?

double click on the speaker icon in the bottom left hand side of your screen

then got options>properties

click on recording and press ok

now select line in NOT MIC

this will set the main recording device as the line in

Tukkis

Thanks man, It works now. Though it seems to have a tremendous amout of gain even when the drive knob is hardly on. Any suggestions on how to get less distortion?

so turn the sansamp down and raise the volume through the mixer in cool edit?

Nope.. the other way around. Turn down the volume on the windows mixer first. Then if it's still too much gain, turn it down on the sansamp. I love the sansamp. I'm gonna name my first kid sansamp.

that worked, but I have a new problem. Sound is only coming out of my left speaker when I use the sansamp. I try to pan it all the way to the right after I record, then I get no sound. When I play a normal mp3 on my computer the sound comes out of both speakers so I know it's not blown
